Session: Hyperlipidemia in Various Conditions
Sunday, 12 February 2017
Hall B
The main root of hyperlipidemia is either hereditary or because of poor diets and other specific factors.
When the body cannot apply or eliminate the extra fat, it gathers in the blood. Over time, the accumulation becomes detrimental to the arteries and organs of the body. This progression contributes to the risk of heart disease.
In hereditary hyperlipidemia, the high cholesterol has nothing to do with poor diet habits but is caused by an inherited disorder.
Other causes of hyperlipidemia may include excessive consumption of alcohol, renal disease, diabetes, underactive thyroid glands, and side effects of medication such as hormones and even steroids.
Register today for WCCL 2017 and take part in these fascinating presentations and enjoy stimulating panel discussions, all designed to help you stay on track with the latest research and clinical practices.
